TSA OFFICER DUTIES

President (Steven Ramsey)

"The Symbol of my office is the gavel. The duties vested in me by my office are to preside at all regular and special meetings of this organization and to promote cooperation in carrying out the activities and work of our organization."

The President presides over and conducts all meetings in accordance with parliamentary procedure; keeps the members on the subject and within the time limits; appoints committee chairs and serves on committees as an ex-officio member; represents the organization at special functions; keeps in touch with other officers, the membership, and the advisor; and keeps informed to ensure that the chapter is following the chapter’s program of work.

Vice President (James Carter)

"The Symbol of my office is the star, and it is the duty of my office to see that we always have a strong membership, a good work program, and are alert to the welfare of our chapter."

The vice-president serves in any capacity as directed by the President; accepts the responsibility of the President as the occasion may demand; and serves as the chairman of the Membership Committee.

Secretary (Aiden Clark)

"The Symbol of my office is the pen, and it is my responsibility to see that accurate and proper records are kept of all business and correspondence of this association."

The Secretary serves in any capacity as directed by the President; records proceedings of all meetings; writes letters, and conducts communication between the State officers and the chapters and the public.

Treasurer (Lauren Bryant)

"The Symbol of my office is the balanced budget, and it is the duty of my office to keep accurate records of all funds and to see that our financial obligations are met promptly."

The Treasurer serves in any capacity as directed by the President; keeps records and membership reports as necessary, and serves as chairman of the Budget Committee.

Reporter (Dawson Melton)

"The Symbol of my office is the beacon tower, and it is my duty to see that our school, community, and national organization have a complete report of our organization's activities."

The reporter serves in any capacity as directed by the President; accumulates and keep up to date information on the history of the association; prepares articles for publication in WV TSA publications, professional magazines, journals, newspapers and other news media; and contacts other association members concerning new items for publication.

Sergeant-at-Arms (Connor Sakshaug)

"The Symbol of my office is the hearty handshake, and it is my responsibility to see that the assembly is comfortable and properly welcomed. It is also my duty to serve as the doorkeeper for this organization."

The Sergeant-at-Arms serves in any capacity as directed by the President; assists in the preparation and control of the meeting place; and assists in conducting all meetings according to parliamentary procedure as set forth by Robert’s Rules of Orders, Newly Revised
