BGHS Administration

Dr. Ian Marshall, Principal. Dr, Marshall was previously a U.S. History teacher at BGHS and  WMHS in Augusta County. He was an Administrator in Waynesboro Public Schools at William Perry Elementary and Kate Collins Middle School before returning to Buffalo Gap as an Assistant Principal. Dr. Marshall was named Principal of Buffalo Gap High School in 2014 upon the retirement of Mr. William Deardorff. Principal Marshall holds two Undergraduate Degrees from Virginia Tech, a Master's Degree in Vocational and Technical Education, another Master's Degree in Exercise Science, and a Doctorate in Leadership & Administration from Shenandoah University. Ms. Crystal Coffman, Assistant Principal. Ms. Coffman returned to Buffalo Gap from Craigsville Elementary where she served as Principal.  Before Craigsville Elementary, she was the principal at Valley Elementary in Bath County. Ms. Coffman started her career as a Physical Education teacher at Green Valley Elementary and has taught at Ladd Elementary School, Wilson Middle School, and Buffalo Gap High School.  At WMS, she coached the Freshman/JV girls' basketball team and she also was the assistant girls' basketball coach during her time in the classroom at Gap. She graduated from Buffalo Gap High School, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Virginia Tech, and a Master's in Administration and Supervision in 2010 from Shenandoah University. Mr. Rod Bowers, Athletic Director/Assistant Principal. Mr. Bowers came to Buffalo Gap from Wilson Middle School, where he served as Assistant Principal. Mr. Bowers started his teaching career as an Elementary Physical Education teacher in Rockingham County and Assistant Football Coach at Broadway High School. Mr. Bowers has also taught at Stuarts Draft High School where he was Head Football Coach before transitioning to an Assistant Football Coach at Buffalo Gap High School, and Physical Education teacher.
