FAMILY ENGAGEMENT DAYS November 18, 2021 Good afternoon. As Superintendent Dr. Eric Bond has declared November 18 & 19 Family Engagement Days for Augusta County Public Schools, we want to acknowledge the importance of families and schools working together to support our children’s learning. Knowing our schools need parent and caregiver support, today and tomorrow we celebrate the powerful contributions you make to education everyday in your home. To recognize your role, we ask you to take just a few minutes over the next couple of days to talk about the importance of education with your child. Tell your child about your family’s history with school, ask your child how school is going now, and discuss how education plays a role in your child’s future dreams. To help you in this conversation, more information will be posted on our ACPS Facebook page today and tomorrow. Our schools need your help in meeting our goal of teaching Every Child, Every Day. Thank you for helping us reach that goal, and we’ll see your child in school tomorrow.

The Fine Arts Department is planning to host our annual Winter Showcase at Buffalo Gap High School on Sunday, December 5 (snow date of Sunday, December 12). 2:00 pm - Doors open for the student art show/piano recital in the lobby. 2:30 pm - Auditorium doors open. 3:00 pm - Concert begins. 4:00 pm - Approximate end of concert.

Senior Night We will be recognizing senior members of Football, Sideline & Comp Cheer, Golf, and Band on October 22, 2021. We will introduce our seniors on the track during the football pregame. We will begin the festivities at 6:30 PM. We ask that all escorts be present on the track prior to 6:20 pm so we can line up.

Make Up Picture Day for All Students and Staff Wednesday October 13th - Available to all Students and Staff that missed their opportunity for pictures. Seniors will be provided graduation gowns for pictures for the yearbook.

We are pleased to offer a COVID vaccine clinic in collaboration with the local health department for students and families the week of Sept. 13. In order to plan accordingly, we need to know how many students will attend the vaccine clinic. Please distribute the attached screening, permission, and information form to your students who are 12 and older. We need permission forms back to the school as soon as possible. Once we see the responses, we will set up the clinics and notify parents when the clinic will occur. Parents do not need to be present when the vaccine is given. We need to really get the word out!!! Progress Reports Parents as you know we are sending out electronic notifications regarding missing assignments and student grades are posted in Infinite Campus. We will be notifying students and parents regarding course progress. Please contact teachers with questions about your student and their progress in coursework. If you need to access our staff for questions please email or call 337-6021 between the hours of 8:30am - 4:00pm. Please call to schedule an appointment time if you need to physically come to the building. Scheduling is necessary to ensure that we can provide the best personal experience for your family and make sure appropriate staff is available.
