Here is a basic list of kindergarten readiness skills as well as some activities to help get your student ready for school. Missing some or all of these skills does not mean your student is not ready for kindergarten. However, the more of these skills they possess the easier their transition into the structured environment of the classroom and their ability to acquire new skills will be. Any of these skills you can assist them with acquiring prior to the start of school the better off they will be. One of the most important things you can do to help your student get ready is to read with them each day.
