Augusta County Public Schools - Serving Every Child, Every Day
Thank you for visiting the Personnel Department website.
Augusta County Public Schools is an outstanding school division. We serve over 10,000 PreK-12 students in 19 schools (9 elementary, 5 middle, 5 high), Head Start classrooms, a regional governor's school, a regional career and technical education center, and an alternative education program. Our dedicated employees are committed to fulfilling our mission of helping every student grow intellectually, physically and emotionally every day, and with equal amounts of determination.
Our workforce includes over 1,700 employees, including approximately 900 teachers. The number of available positions are determined by several factors - student enrollment, course registration, curricular and special needs, and retirements and resignations. A bigger picture evolves during the Spring and when contracts are issued in May.
Augusta County Public Schools offers free health insurance and tuition assistance to all full-time contracted employees. We work closely with non-licensed employees to obtain the credentials required for teaching through partnerships with local colleges and universities. All support staff employees may enroll in a registered apprenticeship pathway made possible through a partnership with Virginia Works and the Adult Learning Program at Valley Career and Technical Center.
